Setting up social media channels and building a community
We helped Securitas to establish a presence on Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest as part of its first co-ordinated move into social media. We built a presence on the channels, ensuring that they met branding and usage guidelines, before building communities through the research and identification of customers, partners and other stakeholders – and inviting them to join the new networks.
A social media team was established and this allowed both the Henley Group and Securitas marketing personnel to collaborate on a shared platform. We also developed an editorial calendar to ensure that strategic content was pushed through Twitter and other channels, alongside more reactive, conversational messages.
In fact, much of the campaign content was developed specifically for social media use rather than starting life as PR or marketing material. Close attention was paid to SEO and trending subjects and content was then reworked for use across traditional PR channels.
